Will I Be Covered If I Drove Outside Of The UK?
We do not provide EU cover on our Young Driver Telematics insurance policies.
If you have a Young Driver insurance policy through Think Insurance, we will not cover you if you take the car outside of Great Britain and its associated islands.
Our Young Driver insurance policies, at this time, are restricted to England, Wales, and Scotland – however this does include associated islands such as the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Skye. We are unable to offer cover to young drivers in Northern Ireland. We apologise if this causes any inconvenience.
If you are intending to use your car outside of Great Britain, whether that is to visit Ireland or any other part of the European Union, we suggest that you refrain from doing so. This is because you will not be insured to drive outside Britain under your Young Driver Black Box insurance policy.
In the event you were to take your car out of the country, you would not be insured. If you were unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident whilst driving abroad not only would you have no cover in place, this would also most likely be a legal offence in the country you were driving in, and could have severe consequences.
Other than this, there aren’t really any other limitations on our Black Box insurance policies. Mileage is restricted by you, based upon the amount you request and pay for, but you can always increase this at any point during your Young Driver insurance policy. We also don’t restrict the time you can drive as, with a Think Insurance Young Driver insurance policy, there are no curfews for our drivers.
