Can I Still Earn No Claims Bonus With a Think Black Box?
When it comes to No Claims Bonus, a Young Driver insurance policy is very similar to a regular Car insurance policy.
Whilst there are a number of differences with Young Driver insurance compared to regular Car insurance, there is one thing that is consistently the same and that is the No Claims Discount, or No Claims Bonus as it’s sometimes called.
It still works the same way as a No Claims Discount would on a standard Private Car insurance policy or other policy such as Motor Trade insurance. After one full year of claims free driving, upon renewal, in addition to your Good Driver discount that you will hopefully be eligible for, you will also qualify for 1 year’s No Claims Discount.
When the No Claims Bonus comes into effect depends on the level of cover you have. If you have Third Party Only cover you would only be eligible for a No Claims Discount if you weren’t involved in an accident that was your fault, as you are not able to claim for anything else.
If you have a Third Party, Fire & Theft Young Driver insurance policy and haven’t claimed on it for any of those things, then you would be eligible for a No Claims Bonus.
With a Comprehensive Telematics Box insurance policy you are able to claim for all of the above, plus damage to your own vehicle in the event of a fault accident, so if you don’t do this over the duration of your policy then you will qualify for your No Claims Discount once it’s time to renew your Young Driver insurance policy.
If you have any more questions about how your No Claims Discount would work or need to discuss any other aspects of your Young Driver insurance policy you can call our specialist Black Box insurance team on 0800 221 8077.
